In 1995 a brand new tool made its appearance, that tool was the internet, or as some people call it, the interwebs! Anyway what ever you decide to call it, it was poo-pood and many said that this international network will never work or last.
Well 23 years later, we cannot live without this internetwork that connects the world to your computer. You send letters now instead of putting it in an envelope via electronic mail, a message made up of code which has no physical body, unless the reciever prints it onto hard copy. If you had to look at the email in its rawest form it would just be a bunch of 1s and 0s strung together, in reality, it is nothing.
This is the reality of the internet and the cyber world. Nothing really exists. Even your online banking is a sending of a piece of code that tells someone somewhere that you have sent them a monetary value to their account, if they go to the autoteller, which is internet based, they can ask for a physical representation of the code placed in their account.
The Internet changed everything, everything we accepted as the norm, a paper letter, a bank book, a cd or record for music, everything, has been changed into a virtual token on a computer, stored on a server, in a server room somewhere in the world.
The next phase of this tokenism is taking place right before your keyboard or processor. It is the phase of internet money. Money that has no physical form but is transferable between 2 people instantly without a traditional bank taking fees and charging you for access to your money. A currency that more and more retailers and service providers are accepting as a form of payment. Many people are saying that this will never work, it will never replace traditional money or banks, but in reality, for many people, it already has.
Bitcoin is a truly world currency, not affected by exchange rates or controls. Can be transfered through borders, and used by someone on the otherside of the world almost instantly. The world as we know it is changing again, are you ready to embrace this change?
